Coach Development
Great coaching isn't about knowing the most. It's about understanding people.

Better Coaching Starts With Better Conversations
Every coach has moments where they question themselves.
How do I motivate this athlete? Why isn't this session working? How do I manage difficult personalities? How do I create an environment where people genuinely want to come back?
These monthly 1:1 Coach Development sessions give you the opportunity to step away from the session and reflect with another experienced coach.
Together we'll explore the challenges you're facing, share ideas, challenge your thinking and help you develop the confidence to become the coach you want to be.
Whether you're coaching rowing, another sport or working in the fitness industry, the principles of great coaching are the same: understanding people, communicating well and creating environments where individuals can thrive.
What We Can Explore
Every coach's journey is different, but topics often include:
- Creating engaging coaching sessions.
- Building culture, standards and trust.
- Understanding different personalities and coaching styles.
- Communication and effective feedback.
- Session planning and problem solving.
- Managing difficult conversations.
- Athlete motivation and behaviour.
- Reflective practice and continual development.
- Growing your confidence as a coach.
- Working through real coaching situations together.
No fixed curriculum. No generic presentations. Every session is shaped around your experiences, your challenges and your goals.
Your Confidential Coaching Space
Coaching can sometimes feel lonely.
These sessions give you a confidential space to ask questions, explore ideas and discuss the situations that aren't always easy to talk about with colleagues or within your club.
Whether you're dealing with club politics, difficult athlete relationships, self-doubt or simply looking for another perspective, we'll work through it together.
Sometimes the biggest breakthrough doesn't come from learning something new. It comes from seeing the situation differently.
The greatest skill a coach can develop isn't technical knowledge. It's understanding people.
