Coaching That's Built Around You
Whether you're completely new to rowing, training for your next race, preparing for an expedition, or simply looking to get fitter, stronger and healthier, every coaching programme starts in exactly the same place…
Understanding you.
Everyone moves differently. We all have different goals, experiences, strengths and limitations. Great coaching isn't about forcing everyone into the same technique. It's about recognising what works best for the individual.
Over the years I've coached complete beginners, competitive athletes, Hyrox competitors, people recovering from injury and those simply wanting to enjoy rowing more. That experience allows me to quickly identify what's holding someone back and, more importantly, how to fix it.

More Than Building Fitness
Most people think getting better at rowing simply means working harder.
I don't.
Real performance comes from unlocking an individual's potential. Too many people focus solely on chasing numbers, giving away performance through inefficient movement and poor technique. Fitness matters, but without the strength, movement quality and technical efficiency to support it, you'll never get the full benefit of the engine you've built.
Working harder isn't always the answer. In fact, it can increase the risk of overload, injury and ingraining poor movement patterns if your body isn't prepared for the demands you're placing on it.
That's why my coaching develops the complete athlete. We build fitness, refine technique, improve movement quality and, where appropriate, incorporate strength and conditioning to create a body that's efficient, resilient and capable of performing at its best.
If mobility, previous injuries or movement restrictions are affecting your rowing, we'll work with them, not against them. Every programme is designed around you, not a generic template.

One great session can transform your understanding.
Consistent coaching can transform your performance.
My aim isn't simply to coach you through an hour's session before sending you on your way. It's to help you understand your rowing, develop confidence in your training and build habits that continue delivering results long after we've finished working together.
Because better rowing isn't about working harder.
It's about understanding how to move better.
