“Coaching that goes beyond the plan.”
Indoor rowing has never been more popular.
Whether it's being used to improve fitness, prepare for Hyrox, support other sports or compete in dedicated indoor rowing events, more people than ever are spending time on the rowing machine.
At the same time, there is a growing recognition that rowing is a skill as much as it is a workout.
Many people work incredibly hard on the machine but never realise just how much more they could get from every stroke.
I've worked with complete beginners learning their first stroke, athletes looking to improve fitness, and experienced rowers already producing impressive scores. What I've learned is that regardless of ability, there's often untapped potential waiting to be unlocked.
Sometimes it's a technical adjustment.
Sometimes it's improving efficiency.
Sometimes it's breaking habits that have become deeply ingrained over thousands of strokes.
The challenge is that technical change isn't always easy. It requires patience, consistency and the right approach.
That's why my coaching doesn't separate technique from training.
The two work together.
Every programme is designed around the individual. I look at how you move, where efficiency is being lost, what technical changes are needed and how your training can support those improvements.
Because if we're trying to change the way you row, your training should reinforce those changes rather than work against them.
I don't just write training plans. I build programmes around the technical changes that will help you row better.
The goal isn't simply to complete sessions.
The goal is to build better movement patterns, improve efficiency and develop fitness in a way that makes those improvements stick.
Whether through video analysis, 1:1 coaching, workshops or bespoke training plans, I help athletes understand not just what to do, but why they're doing it.
Because when technical improvements become habits, performance follows.
Whether you're new to indoor rowing, training for fitness or chasing your next PB, my aim is simple:
Understand. Improve. Perform..

Coaching is about far more than technical knowledge, drills and session plans.
The most effective coaches understand the people in front of them.
They know how to adapt their approach, build trust, create positive environments and help individuals develop in a way that works for them.
Yet these are often the areas that receive the least attention in formal coach education.
Coach Development & Mentoring provides a space to explore the real-world challenges coaches face every day.
Through regular mentoring sessions, we'll discuss coaching topics, work through practical scenarios, reflect on experiences and explore the skills that help great coaches stand out.
Topics may include:
Communication and coaching style
Building athlete confidence
Reading the room and adapting your approach
Understanding different personalities and learning styles
Creating positive training environments
Managing challenging situations
Developing your own coaching philosophy
One of the biggest lessons I've learned throughout my coaching journey is that no two athletes are the same.
Understanding how someone moves is important.
Understanding how they think, learn, respond and experience coaching can be just as important.
These conversations are designed to help coaches build confidence, challenge assumptions and develop the skills that aren't always found in coaching manuals.
Whether you're a new coach looking for support or a more experienced coach wanting to reflect and grow, mentoring can help accelerate your development and broaden your perspective.
Because coaching isn't just about delivering sessions.
It's about understanding people.m description
